Heroic Pram’s family express disgust over lack of posthumous recognition

The family of Kid Wheeler, the pram who bravely sacrificed himself at a Melbourne train station last week in order to save the life of the child he was carrying, have expressed their abhorrence and shock over the lack of thanks and recognition their son has posthumously received since the incident.
The child, who was last week protected by the selfless heroics of the pram, escaped the incident with minor injuries.
“It’s been bad enough losing our only son like this,” stated Kid’s father, Rusty Wheeler, outside their family home on Sunday.
“Nobody kisses their pram goodbye in the morning not expecting to see them when they get home from work. But for the media and constabularies to simply ignore the ultimate sacrifice our son made in saving that baby, well, it just makes me sick.”
Mr Wheeler seemed to agree with one journalist’s suggestion that the lack of recognition from the media and officials may have had something to do with Kid’s status as an inanimate object.
“We like to think we’re treated the same as everyone else, and we don’t like to bring up the ‘ i ’ word, but you have to wonder. Nobody seemed to care when our son, who happens to be an inanimate object, was reported dead. Yet look at the furor over the discovery that the baby, who is a human by the way, survived.”
“Our son died doing a job he loved in a country he loved. For him, it didn’t matter whether something was living or inanimate. We just want to see the community act the same way.”
Kid is survived by his two sons, Third and Training Wheeler.
